Our Priest Fr. Abraham Azmy

Fr. Abraham Azmy has been serving our Church in Connecticut since his ordination as a priest for the altar of Virgin Mary and Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church of Connecticut, USA, by the holy hands of H.H. Pope Shenouda III in Cairo, Egypt on June 18, 2000. He was born and raised in the diocese of El-Bohaira, Egypt, under the bishopric of H.E. Metropolitan Bakhomios, then graduated from Cairo University Kasr Al-Aini Medical College in 1986. During his university years, he was serving Sunday School Children at St. Mary church of El-Faggala, Cairo, Egypt. Fr. Abraham is married to Dr. Amany Kiryakos, his classmate, and is the father of 3 lovely girls, Veronica, Monica and Demiana.
Fr. Abraham and Dr. Amany had immigrated to the USA in 1991 and he acquired his medical license in the US in 1995. He finished his medical residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania then from the University of Massachusetts. He practiced medicine in Pennsylvania till his ordination in 2000.
Fr. Abraham is the author of some liturgical books published in the USA as well as in Egypt, such as “The Holy Pascha”, “The Agpeya, in English and Arabic”. He loves spending time with children as he served children all his life before ordination. He publishing few books for children, such as “The Holy Liturgy of St. Basil in Pictures”, “The Coptic Synaxarium in Pictures for children”, “The Agpeya in Pictures”. He also published few animated DVD for children, such as “The Holy Liturgy”, and “My Beautiful Church”.
We pray that God would continue to bless the service of Fr. Abraham and give him the health, wisdom and guidance to serve God’s people.
